Rudy Project, the official sunglass sponsor of Etixx-Quick-Step Pro Cycling Team, is proud to announce that the team has proven their absolute dominance in the cycling world, as they currently lead the General Classification standings in two of the most prestigious cycling stage races in the world: the Giro d’Italia and the AMGEN Tour of California.
As the 2015 runner-up, Julian Alaphilippe began Stage 3 of the Tour of California ready for redemption. Arguably the most difficult stage of the race’s 2016 edition, Alaphilippe crushed his competitors up Gibraltar Road, a 12km ascent averaging 8% grade. The 23-year-old made his attack in the last 800m, and won the stage with strength and ease. Alaphilippe now leads the General Classification with a 19-second advantage heading into Stage 4.
Looking overseas, Bob Jungels finished the 11th stage of the 2016 Giro d’Italia in 3rd place, earning him another day in the coveted pink leader’s jersey. Jungels snagged the lead in the General Classification from his own teammate Gianluca Brambilla after Stage 10, and became the first Luxembourg rider in 57 years to lead the race.
Along with Jungels and Brambilla, Marcel Kittel was also in pink for the first two days of the race, making it a total of three Etixx – Quick-Step riders to wear the Maglia Rosa for a total of 5 days in this year’s edition of the Giro.
None of these prestigious victories would be possible without the overwhelming teamwork of the Etixx –Quick-Step riders, or the uncompromised vision provided by the Rudy Project Tralyxperformance sunglasses. With numerous awards, such as a perfect 10 out of 10 score from Cycling Active Magazine*, and innovative features like the unique PowerFlow™ anti-fog system, the Tralyx is quickly becoming the number one choice for cyclists everywhere.
